If you think you have what it takes to front this band, record with this band, and tour with this band, we would dig hearing from you.
We’ve already heard from many talented people, but want to make this an opportunity for many more so we’ve set up a way for you to do just that. We are officially announcing that we are seeking a new vocalist to front Stone Temple Pilots. What you also likely know is that having Chester front two bands of this size and scope was too much for one man to be able to do and so regretfully we had to move onto a new chapter together. We very much want to continue doing that, but that’s going to take a little help from all of you.Īs you know, prior to the untimely passing of our brother in arms, Scott, we had been working with the incomparable Chester Bennington.
#STONE TEMPLE PILOTS SINGER TRY OUT FULL#
Check out the full message along with the video below.Ģ016 marks a new year for Stone Temple Pilots…Ī year of hope, optimism, and most importantly, new music! We are immensely proud of all that we have been able to share with you over the years. There’s also a video of remaining STP members Dean and Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz performing “Trippin’ On A Hole In A Paper Heart” - arguably STP’s greatest song - presumably intended as a backing track for prospective vocalists. The intent is for Stone Temple Pilots to continue on, to evolve, and to do what we do… make music!” No one will ever ‘replace’ Scott, that was never the intent. One relevant excerpt: “If you think you have what it takes to front this band, record with this band, and tour with this band, we would dig hearing from you. STP’s official site was recently updated with a “LAUNCHING SOON” message reading, “We’re updating our website and will be back up shortly.” But Alternative Nation was able to find some sections of the new site that the band has yet to publicize, including an announcement that they’re officially seeking a new lead singer. But that was just a one-off STP have no lead singer at the moment.Īccording to Alternative Nation, the band is seeking to change that. A few days after news of Bennington’s departure broke, STP teamed with Joss Stone for one of Jimmy Kimmel’s goofy Mash-Up Mondays, roaring through “Interstate Love Song” under the name Joss Stone Temple Pilots. But Bennington left the band late last year when it became clear his commitments to Linkin Park were too significant to continue fronting STP. This time it is from Jin Virginia Beach. In the years leading up to the death of founding lead singer Scott Weiland, Stone Temple Pilots toured and recorded with Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington on lead vocals. Our review for the latest Kiss ‘Off the Soundboard’ release is up at. If you want me to take the pictures down, I will do so gladly and go steal them from someone else. The images were all stolen and used only for fun so please don’t sue me. Scott Weiland is still buried in his grave and no harm was actually brought to his skeleton. Jeff Gutt did not quit the band and is still a thriving member and a great singer and this post no way states that he isn’t. Jeff Gutt does not think the STP fans are assholes, well except for maybe a handful of you (you know who you are). NOTE: This post is not endorsed in anyway by STP. The band has announced a surprise show for tonight, April 1st 2020…That is right…APRIL FOOL’S!!!! As if you didn’t know already. He was having trouble getting his bones to move in that old Weiland swagger, but eventually he found his groove.”īelow, we have an exclusive leaked photo of Weiland on stage all dressed up for rehearsals and he looks great…Īnd later in the show, for some reason he takes all his clothes off…but he still has the megaphone… Drummer, Eric Kreitz stated, “It was really a difficult time for Scott. In the weeks that followed, they worked with Scott’s skeleton and got him back in to shape for singing. Late one night, they went out to Weiland’s grave and dug up his bag of bones…Īnd for some reason, they stole the headstone too. That’s what your asshole fan’s want anyway”. As he quit, he screamed at us.”why don’t you just dig Scott up and let him be your lead singer again. Jeff couldn’t take the pressure anymore of living in Weiland’s shadows. The DeLeo brothers stated…”It was actually Gutt’s idea. In a surprise announcement, Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Jeff Gutt quits the band and they replaced him with the late Scott Weiland.
